Another young athlete has passed away.
A Northern Iowa swimmer passed away on Wednesday at the age of 21.
“UNI has lost a beloved member of the Panther family with the sudden passing of Lily Ernst,” UNI athletics director David Harris said in a school release. “This loss is heartbreaking for our swimming and diving team, our athletic department and the entire UNI campus. We offer our deepest condolences to Lily’s family, teammates and friends.”

The university did not release a cause of death. Ernst finished her sophomore season with the Panthers this past winter. As a freshman, she earned first-team all-Missouri Valley Conference (MVC) honors with a second-place finish in the 200-yard butterfly at the MVC Championships. I refuse to be beholden to Big Tech like so many other conservative news outlets, which is why you won’t see Google ads here. With that said, it’s often challenging to pay the bills and it’s even harder to expand so we can get the America First message out to a wider audience.
