Image: Sheriff David Clarke, Barack Obama, Twitter Screenshots Former Sheriff of Milwaukee County David Clarke responded today to former President Barack Obama’s complaints about the Supreme Court overturning Roe vs. Wade, telling him to “shove it” and “it’s called states rights for a reason.”
Clarke responded initially to a tweet where Obama declared, “Today, the Supreme Court not only reversed nearly 50 years of precedent, it relegated the most intensely personal decision someone can make to the whims of politicians and ideologues—attacking the essential freedoms of millions of Americans.”
In a quote tweet, Clarke told Obama, “Oh shove it. You libs attack ‘essential freedoms of millions of Americans’ every time to try to abolish the Second Amendment.” In a reply to his own tweet, Obama continued, “Across the country, states have already passed bills restricting choice.”
“If you’re looking for ways to respond, @PPFA , @USOWomen , and many other groups have been sounding the alarm on this issue for years—and will continue to be on the front lines of this fight,” Obama insisted.
Clarke then told Obama in a quote tweet of that reply, “Yeah, it’s called states rights for a reason. States decide what their laws are.”
“You know Barry, the 10th Amendment to the US Constitution. I know you didn’t follow it as President but it is still in existence,” Clarke explained. Obama concluded his three-part tweet with a reply where he shared a joint statement that he had previously made with Michelle Obama when the draft was leaked.
“For more than a month, we’ve known this day was coming—but that doesn’t make it any less devastating,” Obama claimed and added, “Here are my thoughts from when we first saw the draft ruling:”
“Today, millions of Americans woke up fearing that their essential freedoms under the Constitution were at risk.”“If the Supreme Court […]
They’re Trying to Shut Us Down
Over the last several months, I’ve lost count of how many times the powers-that-be have tried to shut us down. They’ve sent hackers at us, forcing us to take extreme measures on web security. They sent attorneys after us, but thankfully we’re not easily intimidated by baseless accusations or threats. They’ve even gone so far as to make physical threats. Those can actually be a bit worrisome but Remington has me covered.
For us to continue to deliver the truth that Americans need to read and hear, we ask you, our amazing audience, for financial assistance. We have a Giving Fuel page to help us pay the bills. It’s brand new so don’t be discouraged by the lack of donations there. It’s a funny reality that the fewer the donations that have been made, the less likely people are willing to donate to it. One would think this is counterintuitive, but sometimes people are skeptical because they think that perhaps there’s a reason others haven’t been donating. In our situation, we’re just getting started so please don’t be shy if you have the means to help.
Thank you and God bless!
