An attempted arson and vandalism reported at a pro-life politician’s office early Monday in Washington state adds to growing concerns about violence targeting people who work to protect unborn babies from abortion.
The incident is the fifth arson or attempted arson against pro-life advocates since news broke in May about a leaked draft ruling showing the U.S. Supreme Court overturning Roe v. Wade . Dozens of churches and pro-life organizations also have been targets of vandalism, threats and harassment, and pro-abortion radicals are threatening more violence if the court does overturn Roe this summer.
My Northwest reports pro-life Republican state Rep. Andrew Barkis’s office building was vandalized just after 4 a.m. Monday in Olympia when two masked individuals broke a window with a hammer and threw a lit flare into the building.
“Fortunately the flare landed on a masonry floor and the building survived,” House Minority Leader J.T. Wilcox wrote on Twitter , posting a security video of the crime. “I think that this is clearly targeted, I don’t think it would be easy to make a case that this was a random event.” /wp-content/uploads/2022/06/washingtonarsonattempt.mp4 The building houses Barkis’s business and the House Republican campaign offices.
The Olympia Police Department and Washington State Patrol both are investigating, according to the McClatchy News Service .
Barkis, R-Lacey, has sponsored several pro-life bills in the state legislature, including one this year to protect unborn babies with Down syndrome from discriminatory abortions . However, it failed to pass the Democrat-controlled legislature.

Here’s more from the report: Wilcox told McClatchy Monday that neither he nor Barkis believe it was random vandalism because he thinks a hammer and […]
They’re Trying to Shut Us Down
Over the last several months, I’ve lost count of how many times the powers-that-be have tried to shut us down. They’ve sent hackers at us, forcing us to take extreme measures on web security. They sent attorneys after us, but thankfully we’re not easily intimidated by baseless accusations or threats. They’ve even gone so far as to make physical threats. Those can actually be a bit worrisome but Remington has me covered.
For us to continue to deliver the truth that Americans need to read and hear, we ask you, our amazing audience, for financial assistance. We have a Giving Fuel page to help us pay the bills. It’s brand new so don’t be discouraged by the lack of donations there. It’s a funny reality that the fewer the donations that have been made, the less likely people are willing to donate to it. One would think this is counterintuitive, but sometimes people are skeptical because they think that perhaps there’s a reason others haven’t been donating. In our situation, we’re just getting started so please don’t be shy if you have the means to help.
Thank you and God bless!
