It was good of the Wall Street Journal to at least publish a front page teaser about someone being charged with the attempted murder of Justice Brett Kavanaugh. The major newspapers here in Connecticut, the Hartford Courant and the Waterbury Republic-American , could not be bothered to do even that.
The Rep-Am has a front page teaser on Jeff Goldblum coming back for the final Jurassic Park movie. But the attempted assassination of a U.S. Supreme Court justice? No space for a lesser story like that, I guess.
The New York Times ran a long, well-reported story — buried on page 20. The Washington Post did a little better. It also ran a long-well-reported story, and even put it on page one, but only the beginning paragraphs in the upper left-hand corner of the home page — the worst spot on the page. What If?
But what if Kavanaugh hadn’t been a Trump appointee and one of the votes to overturn Roe v. Wade ? What if, instead, someone had been charged with the attempted murder of Ruth Bader Ginsburg right before the Obergerfell ruling in 2015? Or, say, the attempted murder of Sotomayor right before a gun rights decision?
The Journal would have managed more than a front page teaser. Our local papers would have covered it. The Times and the Post would have blared the story across the front page. Both would have been filled editorials and columns about “the growing right-wing menace,” “the Republican war on democracy,” “the Trump-led right’s destruction of American institutions.”
It would be a front-burner story for months afterward. They wouldn’t stop talking about it. The action of a disturbed loner would be presented as an example of what the American right is really about.
And if the target were Ginsberg or Sotomayor, would Nancy Pelosi […]
We Often Feel Like David Taking on Giants
Today’s Goliath is the Mainstream Media Industrial Complex that brainwashes the masses.
Our mission is very straightforward: To counter the false narratives and nefarious agendas destroying America today. It isn’t easy for obvious reasons; despite incredible growth over the last year we are still a very tiny fish in a huge media pond. But we’re fighting and we will continue to do so, Lord willing, for as long as we possibly can. The battle for America’s present and future is too important for us to back down to the giants that stand in our way.
We need help. I don’t want to say “desperately,” but the need is definitely great. If you have the means, please donate through our GivingFuel page, PayPal, or our Substack page. Your generosity is what keeps these sites running and allows us to get the truth to the masses. We’ve had great success in growing but we know we can do more with your assistance.
Thank you, and God Bless!
