Legislation in California, if it becomes law, would allow politicians to see the names of people that signed the petitions against them – which a pastor says would essentially legitimize a form of bullying.
SB 663, introduced on February 19, passed out of the State Senate Elections Committee on Monday by a vote of 4-1.
“The man who engineered this bill … is none other than Senator Josh Newman,” Pastor Jack Hibbs of Calvary Chapel-Chino Hills told the Washington Watch with Tony Perkins program. Newman is a Democrat representing California’s 29th District.
“Josh Newman was recalled [in 2018] by the California voter,” the pastor noted, “and … he’s the author of this legislation that would intimidate, that would silence anyone who would sign a petition in the future; and not only that, [it] would reveal their private name and their employment.”
During a public hearing, Newman defended his bill, saying it’s “a fundamental tenet of the American justice system that the accused should always have the right to face his or her accusers.” In contrast, Hibbs – who was involved in the recall petition against Governor Gavin Newsom (D-California) – called the bill “textbook bullying.”

We Often Feel Like David Taking on Giants
Today’s Goliath is the Mainstream Media Industrial Complex that brainwashes the masses.
Our mission is very straightforward: To counter the false narratives and nefarious agendas destroying America today. It isn’t easy for obvious reasons; despite incredible growth over the last year we are still a very tiny fish in a huge media pond. But we’re fighting and we will continue to do so, Lord willing, for as long as we possibly can. The battle for America’s present and future is too important for us to back down to the giants that stand in our way.
We need help. I don’t want to say “desperately,” but the need is definitely great. If you have the means, please donate through our GivingFuel page, PayPal, or our Substack page. Your generosity is what keeps these sites running and allows us to get the truth to the masses. We’ve had great success in growing but we know we can do more with your assistance.
Thank you, and God Bless!
