Lonoke, AR – The Lonoke County sheriff has fired the deputy who fatally shot 17-year-old Hunter Brittain for failing to activate his bodycam before the incident started.
Lonoke County Sheriff John Staley said he released the video statement on Thursday so he could talk directly to his community. “You have a right to know the latest about the Hunter Brittain matter,” Sheriff Staley said as the video began. “There’s a lot of noise, misinformation, downright lies on social media, so I’ll set it straight.”
The sheriff said there were two different issues at hand – did the deputy act legally and did the deputy act within Lonoke County Sheriff’s Office policy.
He said the Arkansas State Police (ASP) and prosecutors would answer the first question about whether the criminal charges should be brought against the deputy.
“I have nothing to do with it, nor should I. That’s the whole point behind an independent investigation,” Sheriff Staley explained.
However, the sheriff said it was up to him to determine whether Lonoke County Sheriff’s Office (LCSO) Sergeant Michael Davis had followed proper sheriff’s department policy during the incident.

“My review of this deputy’s actions has determined that he did not activate his bodycamera in a timely way,” Sheriff Staley continued. “This means there is no video of the actual shooting. We see the aftermath, but not the shooting. Due to that failure, I have terminated the employment of that deputy.”Then the sheriff addressed the virtual firestorm of hatred being directed at the Lonoke County Sheriff’s Office. “Out-of-state activists and others have blown up social media with irresponsible and hateful statements and that has led to dozens of death threats,” Sheriff Staley said. “Every one of those threats is a crime, and there are investigations underway. Threatening to kill and rape us, and our family members, is beyond disgraceful.”The fatal […]

We Often Feel Like David Taking on Giants
Today’s Goliath is the Mainstream Media Industrial Complex that brainwashes the masses.
Our mission is very straightforward: To counter the false narratives and nefarious agendas destroying America today. It isn’t easy for obvious reasons; despite incredible growth over the last year we are still a very tiny fish in a huge media pond. But we’re fighting and we will continue to do so, Lord willing, for as long as we possibly can. The battle for America’s present and future is too important for us to back down to the giants that stand in our way.
We need help. I don’t want to say “desperately,” but the need is definitely great. If you have the means, please donate through our GivingFuel page, PayPal, or our Substack page. Your generosity is what keeps these sites running and allows us to get the truth to the masses. We’ve had great success in growing but we know we can do more with your assistance.
Thank you, and God Bless!
