Voters are largely tuning out of the January 6, 2021 storming of the Capitol hearings.
According to a Rasmussen Reports poll , 20% of likely United States said they would watch all of the television coverage of the special committee hearing. An additional 14% plan on watching most of the televised hearings, but 22% indicated they’ll watch some of the hearings. 39% won’t even bother watching TV coverage of the hearings.
Democrats are much more interested in the January 6 hearings than other voters. 60% of Democrats said they’ll watch all or the majority of the TV coverage of the hearings. By contrast, only 22% of Republicans and 21% of independent voters will watch that much of the TV coverage. 57% of Republicans and 47% of independent voters won’t watch any of the televised hearings.
57% of likely voters view the congressional investigation of the Capitol riot important, including 41% who believe it’s “very important.”
On the other hand, 39% don’t believe the investigation is important, which includes 27% who believe it’s “not all important.”
50% of voters believe the January 6 storming of the Capitol constituted a threat to American democracy, whereas 42% disagree. On partisan lines, there are stark contrasts on how this incident is perceived. 78% of Democrats believe the January 6 protests were a threat to democracy, but only 28% of Republicans and 43% of independent voters hold the same belief.
Overall, the January 6 hearings were nothing but Kabuki theater. To be sure, there were several individuals who committed criminal acts on January 6. However, it’s pure hyperbole to label January 6 as a “coup” or liken it to Pearl Harbor or the 9/11 terrorist attacks.

They’re Trying to Shut Us Down
Over the last several months, I’ve lost count of how many times the powers-that-be have tried to shut us down. They’ve sent hackers at us, forcing us to take extreme measures on web security. They sent attorneys after us, but thankfully we’re not easily intimidated by baseless accusations or threats. They’ve even gone so far as to make physical threats. Those can actually be a bit worrisome but Remington has me covered.
For us to continue to deliver the truth that Americans need to read and hear, we ask you, our amazing audience, for financial assistance. We have a Giving Fuel page to help us pay the bills. It’s brand new so don’t be discouraged by the lack of donations there. It’s a funny reality that the fewer the donations that have been made, the less likely people are willing to donate to it. One would think this is counterintuitive, but sometimes people are skeptical because they think that perhaps there’s a reason others haven’t been donating.
