A few days ago, Washington Post opinion columnist Paul Waldman put out an alert that the “Don’t Say Gay” bill was being “universally referred to” on right-wing sites as the “Anti-Groomer Bill” and that term was on its way into the mainstream. Waldman, of course, didn’t see the irony of himself calling the Parental Rights in Education bill the “Don’t Say Gay” bill, which is how the bill is being universally referred to in the mainstream media.
We’ve put out the challenge to opponents of the Parental Rights in Education law to explain why it’s so important to have teacher-led classroom discussions on sexual orientation and gender identity in kindergarten. Remember last year when the Arizona Department of Education issued an “equity” toolkit to help teachers deal with the racism that is inherent in children as young as 3 months old and pervasive in white children up to age 5 and beyond? It’s the same thing here; they apparently believe that homophobia and transphobia are learned as early as kindergarten.
Here’s part of a Zoom presentation on the Future of Sex Education, where we hear from researchers about why it’s so important to reach young children before heteronormative and cisnormative values become ingrained in their minds. We suppose that’s why there’s a market for children’s picture books like “Rainbow: A First Book of Pride,” “The Hips on the Drag Queen Go Swish, Swish, Swish,” and “The GayBCs.” Children who are being raised by a cisgender father and mother might not be exposed to these other values outside of school. Lisa D. Lieberman, Ph.D. Keep an eye out for that name. Don’t worry — the White House just issued a statement saying that puberty blockers are reversible , so what’s the harm in trying them? They’re Trying to Shut Us Down
Over the last several months, I’ve lost count of how many times the powers-that-be have tried to shut us down. They’ve sent hackers at us, forcing us to take extreme measures on web security. They sent attorneys after us, but thankfully we’re not easily intimidated by baseless accusations or threats. They’ve even gone so far as to make physical threats. Those can actually be a bit worrisome but Remington has me covered.
For us to continue to deliver the truth that Americans need to read and hear, we ask you, our amazing audience, for financial assistance. We have a Giving Fuel page to help us pay the bills. It’s brand new so don’t be discouraged by the lack of donations there. It’s a funny reality that the fewer the donations that have been made, the less likely people are willing to donate to it. One would think this is counterintuitive, but sometimes people are skeptical because they think that perhaps there’s a reason others haven’t been donating. In our situation, we’re just getting started so please don’t be shy if you have the means to help.
Thank you and God bless!
