George Burns Dr. Mehmet Oz continues to show surprisingly strong poll numbers in his bid for the Republican nomination for the U.S. Senate seat currently held by Pat Toomey, especially for a guy who may or may not live in the state and has long taken positions on the Second Amendment that are far more in line with anti-gun activists. Oz has not only amplified calls for bans on modern sporting rifles and backed red-flag gun seizure laws, he’s used his television show to promote those gun control positions to an audience of millions.
His anti-gun points of view extended to a syndicated column co-written with business partner Dr. Michael Roizen. As Fox News details , many of the columns advocated bans on so-called assault weapons, mandatory waiting periods, gun licensing laws, and more, but there’s a catch; Dr. Oz’s colleague says even if the columns ran under his name, he didn’t write them. Roizen produced a letter to Fox News Digital in which he stated Oz’s involvement in the columns was minimal due to other media commitments. “Dr. Oz and I have been media partners for almost 20 years, including our best-selling YOU books. We started working on a daily “YouDocs” newspaper column in 2007. When Dr. Oz shifted his focus to launch his show in 2009, I took over the sole management of this daily column,” Roizen wrote. Roizen’s letter did not specify which or how many columns were erroneously attributed to both doctors, but sought to “acknowledge periodic errors.” “When controversial topics arose, we were supposed to debate options. If we disagreed on an editorial direction, I would specify that ‘Dr. Roizen’ felt a […]
They’re Trying to Shut Us Down
Over the last several months, I’ve lost count of how many times the powers-that-be have tried to shut us down. They’ve sent hackers at us, forcing us to take extreme measures on web security. They sent attorneys after us, but thankfully we’re not easily intimidated by baseless accusations or threats. They’ve even gone so far as to make physical threats. Those can actually be a bit worrisome but Remington has me covered.
For us to continue to deliver the truth that Americans need to read and hear, we ask you, our amazing audience, for financial assistance. We have a Giving Fuel page to help us pay the bills. It’s brand new so don’t be discouraged by the lack of donations there. It’s a funny reality that the fewer the donations that have been made, the less likely people are willing to donate to it. One would think this is counterintuitive, but sometimes people are skeptical because they think that perhaps there’s a reason others haven’t been donating. In our situation, we’re just getting started so please don’t be shy if you have the means to help.
Thank you and God bless!
