The U.S. and NATO are facing increasing pressure as Russia calls for more flexibility on Ukraine, with the stakes higher than they have been since the annexation of Crimea under President Barack Obama’s leadership.
The situation has grown increasingly delicate as buildup of Russian troops continues on the Ukraine border, and so far little progress has been made by the Biden administration amid ongoing talks in Geneva.
“I don’t think we know the answer to that,” said U.S. Deputy Secretary of State Wendy Sherman when asked by reporters about whether there would be a de-escalation to the crisis. “We will see whether, in fact, Russia understands that the best way to pursue diplomacy is for them to reduce those tensions and to de-escalate.”
Sherman also said that the Russians have told her the 100,000 troops at the Ukraine border are not there to invade Ukraine but, rather, the build-up is just simply “typical maneuvering.”
Critics of the Biden administration have said the U.S. should not get dragged into another war over a Ukranian border dispute. Meanwhile, others, including Senator Tom Cotton, have argued that the U.S.’s widely criticized exit out of Afghanistan has left America more vulnerable to President Vladimir Putin.
They’re Trying to Shut Us Down
Over the last several months, I’ve lost count of how many times the powers-that-be have tried to shut us down. They’ve sent hackers at us, forcing us to take extreme measures on web security. They sent attorneys after us, but thankfully we’re not easily intimidated by baseless accusations or threats. They’ve even gone so far as to make physical threats. Those can actually be a bit worrisome but Remington has me covered.
For us to continue to deliver the truth that Americans need to read and hear, we ask you, our amazing audience, for financial assistance. We have a Giving Fuel page to help us pay the bills. It’s brand new so don’t be discouraged by the lack of donations there. It’s a funny reality that the fewer the donations that have been made, the less likely people are willing to donate to it. One would think this is counterintuitive, but sometimes people are skeptical because they think that perhaps there’s a reason others haven’t been donating. In our situation, we’re just getting started so please don’t be shy if you have the means to help.
Thank you and God bless!
