Promise Keepers is back – and like the first go-round, it has plenty of critics who have no idea what the organization is about.
In a recent op-ed in USA Today, Mike Freeman argues that Promise Keepers should not be allowed to rent Dallas’ AT&T Stadium – or any other NFL venue – for an upcoming conference. “By allowing this conference to happen at one of football’s meccas, and by AT&T allowing it,” he wrote, “they are helping to mainstream hate speech.”
The columnist was taking issue with comments (like the following) from an interview conducted with Promise Keepers chairman Ken Harrison:
“Christian men are not standing up for what’s right. I mean, think about how quickly we went from homosexual marriage to men putting on dresses, being called a woman and playing on women’s basketball teams. Where are the Christian men?”
That comment, according to Freeman, constituted an attack on the transgender community and was “bigotry [cloaked in] religious freedom.”
But Promise Keepers board member, former Dallas Cowboy, and three-time Super Bowl champion Chad Hennings says the USA Today columnist got it all wrong. Hennings “This is certainly one of those times where the columnist’s perception is definitely not reality,” the former defensive lineman tells One News Now. “He had labeled Promise Keepers as a hate speech organization, that we’re not tolerant.”
Instead, he explains, the organization aims to build men who will be leaders in the community and in their families. “It’s encouraging men to stand up and follow the biblical worldview of what it means to be a man – to be that husband, to be that father, to be that man of God who models a life of what Jesus did for us,” he shares.

Men have gotten a bad rap in today’s culture, says the PK spokesman.
“It’s okay to be a man. We don’t have to cower with the culture that has been inundating us with things such as ‘toxic masculinity,’ and that to be masculine is somewhat, as they profess, a sin. So what it’s telling us is that it’s okay to be a man.”Promise Keepers 2021 will be at […]

They’re Trying to Shut Us Down
Over the last several months, I’ve lost count of how many times the powers-that-be have tried to shut us down. They’ve sent hackers at us, forcing us to take extreme measures on web security. They sent attorneys after us, but thankfully we’re not easily intimidated by baseless accusations or threats. They’ve even gone so far as to make physical threats. Those can actually be a bit worrisome but Remington has me covered.
For us to continue to deliver the truth that Americans need to read and hear, we ask you, our amazing audience, for financial assistance. We have a Giving Fuel page to help us pay the bills. It’s brand new so don’t be discouraged by the lack of donations there. It’s a funny reality that the fewer the donations that have been made, the less likely people are willing to donate to it. One would think this is counterintuitive, but sometimes people are skeptical because they think that perhaps there’s a reason others haven’t been donating. In our situation, we’re just getting started so please don’t be shy if you have the means to help.
Thank you and God bless!
