Five Things New “Preppers” Forget When Getting Ready for Bad Times Ahead
The preparedness community is growing faster than it has in decades. Even during peak times such as Y2K, the economic downturn of 2008, and Covid, the vast majority of Americans made sure they had plenty of toilet paper but didn’t really stockpile anything else.
Things have changed. There’s a growing anxiety in this presidential election year that has prompted more Americans to get prepared for crazy events in the future. Some of it is being driven by fearmongers, but there are valid concerns with the economy, food supply, pharmaceuticals, the energy grid, and mass rioting that have pushed average Americans into “prepper” mode.
There are degrees of preparedness. One does not have to be a full-blown “doomsday prepper” living off-grid in a secure Montana bunker in order to be ahead of the curve. In many ways, preparedness isn’t about being able to perfectly handle every conceivable situation. It’s about being less dependent on government for as long as possible. Those who have proper “preps” will not be waiting for FEMA to distribute emergency supplies to the desperate masses.
Below are five things people new to preparedness (and sometimes even those with experience) often forget as they get ready. All five are common sense notions that do not rely on doomsday in order to be useful. It may be nice to own a tank during the apocalypse but there’s not much you can do with it until things get really crazy. The recommendations below can have places in the lives of average Americans whether doomsday comes or not.

Secured Wealth
Whether in the bank or held in a retirement account, most Americans feel that their life’s savings is relatively secure. At least they did until the last couple of years when de-banking, geopolitical turmoil, and the threat of Central Bank Digital Currencies reared their ugly heads.
It behooves Americans to diversify their holdings. If there’s a triggering event or series of events that cripple the financial systems or devalue the U.S. Dollar, wealth can evaporate quickly. To hedge against potential turmoil, many Americans are looking in two directions: Crypto and physical precious metals.
There are huge advantages to cryptocurrencies, but there are also inherent risks because “virtual” money can become challenging to spend. Add in the push by central banks and governments to regulate or even replace cryptocurrencies with their own versions they control and the risks amplify. There’s nothing wrong with cryptocurrencies today but things can change rapidly.
As for physical precious metals, many Americans pay cash to keep plenty on hand in their safe. Rolling over or transferring retirement accounts into self-directed IRAs is also a popular option, but there are caveats. It can often take weeks or even months to get the gold and silver shipped if the owner chooses to close their account. This is why Genesis Gold Group stands out. Their relationship with the depositories allows for rapid closure and shipping, often in less than 10 days from the time the account holder makes their move. This can come in handy if things appear to be heading south.
Lots of Potable Water
One of the biggest shocks that hit new preppers is understanding how much potable water they need in order to survive. Experts claim one gallon of water per person per day is necessary. Even the most conservative estimates put it at over half-a-gallon. That means that for a family of four, they’ll need around 120 gallons of water to survive for a month if the taps turn off and the stores empty out.
Being near a fresh water source, whether it’s a river, lake, or well, is a best practice among experienced preppers. It’s necessary to have a water filter as well, even if the taps are still working. Many refuse to drink tap water even when there is no emergency. Berkey was our previous favorite but they’re under attack from regulators so the Alexapure systems are solid replacements.
For those in the city or away from fresh water sources, storage is the best option. This can be challenging because proper water storage containers take up a lot of room and are difficult to move if the need arises. For “bug in” situations, having a larger container that stores hundreds or even thousands of gallons is better than stacking 1-5 gallon containers. Unfortunately, they won’t be easily transportable and they can cost a lot to install.
Water is critical. If chaos erupts and water infrastructure is compromised, having a large backup supply can be lifesaving.
Pharmaceuticals and Medical Supplies
There are multiple threats specific to the medical supply chain. With Chinese and Indian imports accounting for over 90% of pharmaceutical ingredients in the United States, deteriorating relations could make it impossible to get the medicines and antibiotics many of us need.
Stocking up many prescription medications can be hard. Doctors generally do not like to prescribe large batches of drugs even if they are shelf-stable for extended periods of time. It is a best practice to ask your doctor if they can prescribe a larger amount. Today, some are sympathetic to concerns about pharmacies running out or becoming inaccessible. Tell them your concerns. It’s worth a shot. The worst they can do is say no.
If your doctor is unwilling to help you stock up on medicines, then Jase Medical is a good alternative. Through telehealth, they can prescribe daily meds or antibiotics that are shipped to your door. As proponents of medical freedom, they empathize with those who want to have enough medical supplies on hand in case things go wrong.
Energy Sources
The vast majority of Americans are locked into the grid. This has proven to be a massive liability when the grid goes down. Unfortunately, there are no inexpensive remedies.
Those living off-grid had to either spend a lot of money or effort (or both) to get their alternative energy sources like solar set up. For those who do not want to go so far, it’s still a best practice to have backup power sources. Diesel generators and portable solar panels are the two most popular, and while they’re not inexpensive they are not out of reach of most Americans who are concerned about being without power for extended periods of time.
Natural gas is another necessity for many, but that’s far more challenging to replace. Having alternatives for heating and cooking that can be powered if gas and electric grids go down is important. Have a backup for items that require power such as manual can openers. If you’re stuck eating canned foods for a while and all you have is an electric opener, you’ll have problems.
Don’t Forget the Protein
When most think about “prepping,” they think about their food supply. More Americans are turning to gardening and homesteading as ways to produce their own food. Others are working with local farmers and ranchers to purchase directly from the sources. This is a good idea whether doomsday comes or not, but it’s particularly important if the food supply chain is broken.
Most grocery stores have about one to two weeks worth of food, as do most American households. Grocers rely heavily on truckers to receive their ongoing shipments. In a crisis, the current process can fail. It behooves Americans for multiple reasons to localize their food purchases as much as possible.
Long-term storage is another popular option. Canned foods, MREs, and freeze dried meals are selling out quickly even as prices rise. But one component that is conspicuously absent in shelf-stable food is high-quality protein. Most survival food companies offer low quality “protein buckets” or cans of meat, but they are often barely edible.
Prepper All-Naturals offers premium cuts of steak that have been cooked sous vide and freeze dried to give them a 25-year shelf life. They offer Ribeye, NY Strip, and Tenderloin among others.
Having buckets of beans and rice is a good start, but keeping a solid supply of high-quality protein isn’t just healthier. It can help a family maintain normalcy through crises.
Prepare Without Fear
With all the challenges we face as Americans today, it can be emotionally draining. Citizens are scared and there’s nothing irrational about their concerns. Being prepared and making lifestyle changes to secure necessities can go a long way toward overcoming the fears that plague us. We should hope and pray for the best but prepare for the worst. And if the worst does come, then knowing we did what we could to be ready for it will help us face those challenges with confidence.
This isn’t biblical…greatly embellished. In short. BS.
The video is absolute malarkey.
1. Satan was still a holy angel at the time of Nimrod.
2. The “beast” does not forfeit his humanity, it was never human. The antichrist is Azazel, the chief of Eden who deceived Eve, and birthed evil. God puts the whole crime on him. Humans have paid the price of sin, but God puts the responsibility of the crime on Azazel aka Apollyon in the book of Revelation. “Christianity” falsely assumes the antichrist is a man, because of a few verses like “the man of sin,” but this is because they take English translations at face value and do not dissect Scripture as commanded by the Messiah via Timothy. It’s not a man, it’s one with the eyes of a man, as revealed in Daniel 7:8. He has the eyes of a man, but he is not human, he was originally a holy angel that was the supervisor of Eden, and he is dominant over Satan, hierarchy wise.
3. He is not a counterfeit Messiah, what a joke. When he is released from prison aka the abyss, he comes to destroy and conquer humanity, nothing Messianic about that!
4. Nimrod was not a hybrid. The video displays complete ignorance of God’s prophecies and judgements upon the angels who rebelled. When Michael went to God and asked what to do about the angels who rebelled and their “giant” offspring, God passed judgement. He commanded Michael to make the giants kill each other as their fathers watched, then He commanded Gabriel to lock up Azazel, and the other rebels were locked up too for a 70 generation sentence = 4900 years. The prophecy of Daniel 9 is about the final 7 generations (490 years) of the 70 generations. All of the giants were exterminated, before the flood. Noah and all his family that were on the ark were pure humans, and we are given his genealogy in multiple books. So the “giants” after the flood were merely larger than average humans, like the wrestler Andre the giant, not hybrids.
5. And I can go on and on about how ridiculous the video is and how false and ignorant “Christianity” is, but people worship their false doctrines, not the Truth of the Messiah, so I’m wasting my time. BUT the imminent crowning ceremony of the Messiah will take place, and right before that event will be the first rapture, in which about only %1 of modern “Christians” will be accounted “worthy” to escape the TRIAL and enter the OPEN DOOR. This will be a harsh wake up call, and because most people do not see Truth, they will fall for the “alien invasion” narrative that the propaganda press will spin to cover the rapture. I doubt anyone reading this will make the first rapture, but you were told in advance, so hopefully you’ll make the second rapture.
The only information I need about Christ is who He was, is and will become. Faith in Him alone is required by God and He as they are one and the same. The Bible declares that Christ is the Word, which means we need to know what’s in the doctrinal manual for life to have a relationship with Christ. All your details are interesting, but not necessary for salvation. When we get to Heaven we will know the details through the actual historical characters.
Beware of calling God’s own, ignorant. He didn’t call us for our knowledge but for our faith. I”m questioning whether you believe the Bible. If not you’re just another demon trying to deceive the elect.
Your reply and comments expose your vast ignorance of the Messiah. “Faith in him alone is required by God,” this is absurd. Faith + 0 = faith, not salvation, Grace + 0 = Grace, not salvation, faith + Grace = salvation. But from the ignorance you display in your comments, I can deduce that you do not even know what faith is. The word in the Greek translated to faith in the English implies a daily faithfulness, not just a thought or a single shallow prayer, it means a daily dedication and life change to what the Messiah commands aka discipleship. Over and over again in Scripture, the Messiah COMMANDS us to keep the commandments and do the will of God, which is keeping the commandments. Do you keep the commandments Bob? Do you keep the Sabbath holy? Judging from your ignorance, no, you do very little of what the Messiah commands, hence you will hear the trumpet and MISS the open door. Christ does not reveal Himself to a person until they keep the commandments, thus your ignorance: John 14: 21 He that hath my commandments, and keepeth them, he it is that loveth me: and he that loveth me shall be loved of my Father, and I will love him, and will manifest myself to him.
Do you even know what heaven is Bob? It’s a physical city called New Jerusalem, and it comes to near space through a wormhole in Revelation 6:14. Only the wise virgins go to New Jerusalem in the first rapture, then New Jerusalem comes here for the second rapture of those who are alive and REMAIN. So you can insinuate I’m a demon, but I’ll just call you stupid.
“Faith in Him alone is required by God,” is ridiculous. Faith plus zero equals faith (not of yourselves), Grace plus zero equals grace (not the Messiah by Himslef), Grace plus faith equals salvation. BUT I doubt you or the majority of “Christians” know what faith is. Faith in the Greek translated to English means a daily devotion, not just a thought or belief, or a shallow one time prayer. Christ commands us over and over again in Scripture to KEEP THE COMMANDMENTS OF GOD, yet do you or anyone you know keep the commandments? Christ commands us over and over again to do the will of God. Do you know what the will of God is? It is for us to keep His commandments. Exodus tells us that keeping the commandments and specifically keeping the Sabbath holy is a sign/mark on the people of God. The Messiah tells us in John 14 that He only reveals Himself to us after we keep the commandments. John 14:21 He that hath my commandments, and keepeth them, he it is that loveth me: and he that loveth me shall be loved of my Father, and I will love him, and will manifest myself to him. This is why “Christianity,” and people like you are so ignorant of the Messiah, because you do not do what He says, you are just a bunch of hot air. “He didn’t call us for our knowledge but for our faith,” so then if you do not have knowledge, how do you know what your faith is in? How do you know what your faith is for? No knowledge means you do not know anything, which is why “Christianity” is filled with stupid videos like this and stupid people who have no answers for those of us who think rationally and want answers. Knowledge builds faith. For example, when you understand that the antichrist is Azazel aka Apollyon, you do not fall for stupid videos like this one, why, because you KNOW. Bob, you do not know who you claim to serve or have faith in, or whatever expression you use, and your ignorance shows. So you can insinuate I am a demon, but I will just call you stupid.
Perhaps you’ve forgotten the Word with all your extra Biblical trivia. The Word says in both the Old and New Covenants that “Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.” In the anguish of these times many million previous unbelievers will be doing just that. The Rapture could be huge will this last desperate attempt to connect with God.
Your knowledge is puffing you up, not building you up.
“Everyone who calls upon the name of the Lord will be saved” is another false “Christian” doctrine that completely takes the Scripture out of context and created a false doctrine of once saved always saved, which is one of the stupidest doctrines in all of “Christianity.” The verse in Joel 2:32, which is then quoted by Peter in Acts and Paul in Romans is speaking about “the remnant,” at the time of the end obviously, not all of humanity. The Scripture is saying that after the great and terrible day of the Lord begins, which it begins in Revelation 6:17, after New Jerusalem comes through the wormhole in Rev 6:14 and is “on top of the clouds of heaven,” aka near space, and is almost the size of the moon, so it will look like a second moon in space, that’s when the remnant aka the 144,000 and those that refuse the mark (mark = DNA of Apollyon forced onto humans to make them hybrids) will be saved. BUT they will be killed first, hence the Messiah saying, “24 For whoever wants to save their life will lose it, but whoever loses their life for me will save it.” If you study Scripture at all with any seriousness, it is obvious that you can not just call on the Lord and be saved, you must take action and obey Him, as clearly revealed by John in 1 John 2:4 Whoever says, “I know him,” but does not do what he commands is a liar, and the truth is not in that person. And what does Scripture say about liars? Revelation 21:8
But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all LIARS, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death. Another example is Revelaiton 3:10 Because thou hast kept the word of my patience, I also will keep thee from the hour of temptation, which shall come upon all the world, to try them that dwell upon the earth. Revelation 14:12 Here is the patience of the saints: here are they that keep the commandments of God, and the faith of Jesus. It is obvious that the wise virgins aka Philadelphia aka the elders “keep the word of His patience,” not just call upon Him, and their reward is that they enter the OPEN DOOR and go to New Jerusalem and are spared from the TRIAL/TEMPTATION, and the “word of His patience” is defined in Revelation 14, those who have faith in Christ AND keep the commandments of God, not just one or the other. I am not puffed up Bob, I just know who my King is.

Maybe you missed the main point, just back to the the old, Bible wedge in human affairs. Jack
The Bible “wedge” as you call it, is the key to paradise with God. Ignore it at your peril. It warns about going beyond the Word with all this mythical fantasy. Some of what is said is true about a couple of the Bible characters but we won’t know for sure until we hear it from the Father, and we don’t need it clogging our brain cells if its not Biblical. Concentrate on knowing Christ through the Bible, and a relationship with Christ. All your questions will be answered and your BS will be forgotten if untrue.
“Buy my gold.” That’s the only purpose of this clickbait.
