On Tuesday, a woman who was believed to be a reporter for Spanish-language network Univision told Vice President Kamala Harris that in the 2020 U.S. presidential election, she voted for her and President Joe Biden.
The woman made the remark during a press briefing in Mexico.
Before asking Harris a question, the woman identified as Maria Fernanda said, “It’s an honor…. I voted for you.”
But the woman who was called on doesn’t work for Univision, it was a case of mistaken identity. No one seems to know who this “journalist” was that falsely claimed she was with Univision but was allowed into a presser with Kamala Harris in Mexico today. https://t.co/uxRmlSZuIb — John 👽 (@JxhnBxnder) June 9, 2021 RELATED: Trump: Why Does ‘Almost Radical Left’ Chris Wallace Still Have A Job? ‘His Ratings Are Terrible’ Woman Praises Harris
During that press conference, Fernanda was called on by a member of Harris’s staff.
Before Fernanda got to her question, she said to Harris, “Thank you, Madame Vice President. For me, it’s an honor because I actually got to vote for the first time as a naturalized citizen and I voted for you.” Sign up to receive the latest political news, insight, and commentary delivered directly to your inbox.
Yet, afterward suspicions were raised about the woman identified as Maria Fernanda.
Reporter Noah Bierman tweeted, “Not sure I’ve ever seen a reporter tell a politician that she voted for her, as a Univision reporter just did during the Kamala Harris news conference before asking a question.” Not sure I’ve ever seen a reporter tell a politician that she voted for her, as a Univision reporter just did during the Kamala Harris news conference before asking a question. — Noah Bierman (@Noahbierman) June 8, 2021 The President of News for Univision in the United States Daniel Coronell wrote in a statement after […]
