The founder of the Black Lives Matter chapter in St. Paul, Minn. said he left the group after learning the “ugly truth” of the organization from the inside.
Rashard Turner told his story on a YouTube video for the group TakeCharge, a black-led organization that posts content on cultural issues, like critical race theory, as reported by the Daily Wire. “After a year on the inside, I learned they had little concern for rebuilding black families, and they cared even less about improving the quality of education for students in Minneapolis,” Turner said in the video below. The former BLM activist said he learned the truth of BLM when it publicly opposed charter schools alongside teacher unions. Turner said he believes charter schools help black American children.
“I was an insider in Black Lives Matter. And I learned the ugly truth,” he said. “The moratorium on charter schools does not support rebuilding the black family. But it does create barriers to a better education for black children.”
Turner is still fighting for black children, just outside of the BLM organization.
“I resigned from Black Lives Matter after a year and a half. But I didn’t quit working to improve black lives and access to a great education,” he said.

They’re Trying to Shut Us Down
Over the last several months, I’ve lost count of how many times the powers-that-be have tried to shut us down. They’ve sent hackers at us, forcing us to take extreme measures on web security. They sent attorneys after us, but thankfully we’re not easily intimidated by baseless accusations or threats. They’ve even gone so far as to make physical threats. Those can actually be a bit worrisome but Remington has me covered.
For us to continue to deliver the truth that Americans need to read and hear, we ask you, our amazing audience, for financial assistance. We just launched a GiveSendGo page to help us pay the bills. It’s brand new so don’t be discouraged by the lack of donations there. It’s a funny reality that the fewer the donations that have been made, the less likely people are willing to donate to it. One would think this is counterintuitive, but sometimes people are skeptical because they think that perhaps there’s a reason others haven’t been donating. In our situation, we’re just getting started so please don’t be shy if you have the means to help.
Thank you and God bless!
