Sen. Ted Cruz questioned President Biden’s nominee to head the Department of Alcohol Tobacco and Firearms in the Senate on Wednesday, asking him about America’s most popular rifle, the AR-15.
“Mr. Chipman, a minute ago, Sen. Whitehouse asked you if your any of views on guns are out of step with the majority of the American people. The AR-15 is one of, if not the most popular rifle in America. It’s not a machine gun, it’s a rifle. Your public position is that you want to ban AR-15s, is that correct?” Cruz asked. Chipman, who worked for the ATF for 25 years, thanked Cruz for the question, before answering “with respect to the AR-15, I support a ban as has been presented in a senate bill, and supported by the president. The AR-15 is a gun I was issued on ATF’s SWAT team and it’s a particularly lethal weapon, and regulating it as other particularly lethal weapons, I have advocated for.
“As ATF director, if I am confirmed, I would simply enforce the laws on the books. Right now there is no such ban on those guns.”
Cruz’s question spoke to Chipman’s understanding of the weapon in question, which was found to be lacking. Biden’s ATF nominee during this hearing couldn’t define “assault weapon,” said he wants to ban the AR-15, extend the NFA to all assault weapons, and said he would go by the ATF definition of “assault rifle” as any semi-auto capable of accepting a detachable mag above .22. — Greg Price (@greg_price11) May 26, 2021 President Biden has made gun control legislation a center piece of his initiatives, calling for so-called “red flag” laws that allow citizens to inform police of their view that another citizen should not be in possession of or have access to firearms.
The nomination of David Chipman to head ATF was part of his detailed plan to address gun violence in the US. We’re independent and can’t be cancelled. The establishment media is increasingly dedicated to divisive cancel culture, corporate wokeism, and political correctness, all while covering up corruption from the corridors of power. The […]

They’re Trying to Shut Us Down
Over the last several months, I’ve lost count of how many times the powers-that-be have tried to shut us down. They’ve sent hackers at us, forcing us to take extreme measures on web security. They sent attorneys after us, but thankfully we’re not easily intimidated by baseless accusations or threats. They’ve even gone so far as to make physical threats. Those can actually be a bit worrisome but Remington has me covered.
For us to continue to deliver the truth that Americans need to read and hear, we ask you, our amazing audience, for financial assistance. We have a Giving Fuel page to help us pay the bills. It’s brand new so don’t be discouraged by the lack of donations there. It’s a funny reality that the fewer the donations that have been made, the less likely people are willing to donate to it. One would think this is counterintuitive, but sometimes people are skeptical because they think that perhaps there’s a reason others haven’t been donating. In our situation, we’re just getting started so please don’t be shy if you have the means to help.
Thank you and God bless!
