Chief medical examiner for Washington, D.C. Dr. Francisco J. Diaz has determined that two of the deaths at the U.S. Capitol protest on January 6 were “natural” deaths while one was an accidental death caused by a drug overdose. Only Ashli Babbitt, the pro-freedom protester who was gunned down reportedly by Capitol police, has so far been identified as the victim of “homicide,” according to Diaz’s findings. The D.C. government told NATIONAL FILE: “On Wednesday, January 6, 2021 an unprecedented incident of civil insurrection at the United States Capitol resulted in the deaths of five individuals. The District of Columbia Office of the Chief Medical Examiner, Dr. Francisco J. Diaz, MD, FACP, has issued the following determinations as to the cause and manner of death for four of those individuals.
