The incoming Biden team was fully appraised of the potential for a disaster at the border, but forged ahead with encouraging mass migration and enabling the cartels anyway.
Biden Was Warned.
On Saturday, the Washington Post reported that President Joe Biden was warned of—and admitted—the need for “guardrails” to avoid an immigration crisis, but the president didn’t take the advice of career officials who forecast what was to come. Instead, he forged ahead with rapid-fire actions to roll back Trump-era policies, encouraging immigrants to surge the southern border with no preparations in place.
“The situation at the border—which Biden and his advisers steadfastly refuse to call a crisis—is the result of an administration that was forewarned of the coming surge, yet still ill-prepared and lacking the capacity to deal with it,” the Post reports. “The administration also took several steps—including saying it would allow unaccompanied minors into the country—that increased the flow of migrants and encouraged more to try their luck.”
As Homeland Security secretary Alejandro Mayorkas made an official trip to the border sans press, citing “privacy and COVID-19 precautions,” one photojournalist illustrated how difficult it’s become under Biden to cover the scene.
